Home Learning

Despite our school building being closed to most students, learning will continue and the school is committed to making sure your education continues during the length of the closure.  We will be doing this via Showmyhomework for younger students and via Google Classroom and Google Hangouts for older students.  Older students have all been shown how to access and operate these facilities.

Home Learning For Year 7, Y8 and Y9

Your subject teacher will provide one task/assessment that will appear on 'show my homework' on a weekly basis and feedback will be provided (because each subject is setting tasks weekly, this will be different and has superseded the homework timetable).
We will have the same expectations around behavior as we normally do in school.
Our normal procedure for holiday homework, over Easter, will still apply.  This means that years 7 & 8 will not be set any tasks on the week beginning 30th March until after the Easter Break.  Years 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 will still be set tasks that week but for a deadline of the week beginning 20th April.

We will send out instructions to help you understand how your child can log on to the necessary software within the next few days.

If you have not contacted our school regarding difficulties with IT provision, please do so today by telephoning Miss Phillips on 01785 244236 Ext 226.  If you have been in touch, we will contact you within the next few days to discuss how we can help you.  Again, thank you for your patience.

It is important to stress that pupils and teachers will communicate via school software and emails only.

All policies, including the Rewards and Sanctions Policy, apply throughout this period of closure.  I also thank your child, in advance, for appreciating the difficulties that their teachers are experiencing at this time.  The use of Google Classroom must be respected at all times.
