Oversubscribed for first time in 15 years
Blessed William Howard Catholic High School is celebrating a significant increase in student applications for September 2019, resulting in the school being oversubscribed for the first time in fifteen years. This is fantastic news for the students, parents, governors and families of Stafford.
The school’s Published Admission Number (PAN) is 188, however, with applications being over this figure, there is now a waiting list for places for students looking to join year 7 in September.
"This significant jump in numbers is a real reward for the hard work of our staff over the past few months in establishing and embedding new policies and procedures. I would encourage all those parents looking ahead for places in September 2020 to apply as early as possible.” commented Mr Karl Brown, Principal.
The school was also recently inspected by Ofsted and judged to be ‘Good’ with the report acknowledging the fast pace of change.
“There is clear evidence that pupils make more progress and that their behaviour has improved……The school supports effectively the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils (and) has an inclusive ethos, and pupils are clear about the values that direct every aspect of the school life…..The vast majority of pupils enjoy school and come across as happy, confident and considerate.”
The school is holding an open morning for interested parents on March 28th at 9.15am.
