ICT & Computing
Information and Communication Technology
Department Vision
At Blessed William Howard we recognise the importance of ICT and invest in it accordingly. With a ratio of roughly 3 computers per child we have ‘pods’ of computers in all subject sector areas as well as 4 dedicated ICT Suites. We have also invested in wireless internet, ipads, Raspberry Pi (to help with programming) as well as Apple Macs (for art and music).
All year groups study ICT (with the exception of KS5).
Curriclum
We offer Digital Information Technology, Creative Media and Computer Science.
The KS3 curriculum includes programming (using Scratch and Python), Excel, databases, presentations (using Prezi), creating comic books and videos (for e-safety), website design (using Serif Webplus), animation and many more options.
Classes are once a week (1 hour per week for all year groups) and our ICT Department boasts great exam results.
